my x type 2.5 v6 awd 04 plate, temp gauge shot up to red engine management light came on - engine not over heating at all. OB2 diagnostics report p0116 fault. re started engine in limp mode car drove for a few miles before doing it again. various forums report either or all these possibles- ECT sensor, thermostat any ideas please, i heve ordered these as a possible replacement but want to know

No symptoms as such (mine's a late 2001 x-type 2.5 V6). I took it to a local garage (independent) and they code read it, found it was the o2 sensor and had it fixed the same day, just over £80 for the part and 1 hour labour + vat totalled around £160 I think all in. Hope this helps. Quote.
